What is Xylityglucoside?
Though the name may sound scary, and a bit like a Star Wars character, Xylityglucoside is a highly effective and hydrating skin ingredient. It is derived from two water-binding plant sugars, xylitol and glucose. Unlike other humectant ingredients however, it is able to provide highly impressive skin moisture. By this we mean that it is able to optimise water reserves by increasing the natural moisturising factors (NMF) keeping the skin hydrated. It is also able to limit any water loss by helping to improve the skin’s natural protective barrier by creating more lipids and protein allowing the skin barrier to become reenforced and able to combat any damage your skin comes into contact with. With the application of Xylitylglucoside you are left with a complexion that is not only visibly hydrated and smooth in appearance but is correctly functioning.
Side effects of using Xylityglucoside
There are no known side effects to the skin when using xylityglucoside, but we do advise performing a patch test for 24 hours before applying over the skin.
