Many would be fooled to think that there is only one way of using charcoal teeth whitening. However there are actually many different products out there to choose from and all varying in how they are used and what they do. That isn’t even considering how you can use them whilst wearing braces or having any dental cosmetic work. Here we have a few ways of using charcoal teeth whitening that will best suit you and your needs. Also, if we don't answer your question here, have a read of our activated charcoal teeth whitening FAQ's.
First up, if you decide on the Procoal activated charcoal whitening powder you will find the pot means you’d need to use it a particular way. Here is a step by step on how to use the powder.
- Dip your toothbrush into the powder, a little goes a long way so you won’t need to bury your brush, just a small amount on the tips of the bristles will work wonders.
- Next, tap the excess off and start brushing! If you have an electric toothbrush be sure to turn it on once it is in your mouth to avoid any mess.
- Brush your teeth as normal, not too hard and away from your gums.
- Don’t worry about your teeth and mouth looking completely black, it will rinse off!
- Rinse your mouth with water.
- You may notice some slight gritty texture left on your teeth, you can brush your teeth again with your normal toothpaste.
- And that’s that, you are left with a bright smile!
There you have your step by step on using a charcoal teeth whitening powder, there are many questions we are asked on how to use this product with various dental differences such as braces and veneers etc. Let us now explore how you can use the powder and answer some of your questions.
Can I use it whilst I have braces?
Can you use teeth whitening whilst wearing braces? This in fairness has a Yes and No answer to it. If you are after whiter teeth when you have braces then yes this is possible, just ensure you work around the brace and rinse very thoroughly to avoid any powder being left behind and trapped in your braces. If you were to ask your dentist if you can use the product they would probably tell you to give it a miss until your braces have been removed completely.
Can I use charcoal teeth whitening when I have veneers?
Tooth and gum sensitivity are something to consider once you have veneers, it would be best to avoid anything that will cause any discomfort when introducing something new to your dental hygiene routine. Another thing to remember is whether whiter teeth really are a concern once you have had veneers… To steer clear from anything disastrous, we would say avoid any teeth whitening all together, unless you seek professional advice.
Can I use charcoal teeth whitening when I’m pregnant?
Teeth whitening using bleach and other aggressive agents is actually illegal to perform by a dentist when their patients are pregnant or breast feeding. It is best to wait until your children are weaned fully before undergoing any procedure. However, if you can’t wait that long, charcoal teeth whitening powder made from 100% natural ingredients will be perfectly safe to use when you are expecting. Just make sure you don’t swallow a large amount of the product and rinse your mouth thoroughly once you have finished brushing! As a principle, we will recommend against, with your health and your child's health always our first thought.
Can I use charcoal teeth whitening when I have a tooth ache?
Due to charcoal teeth whitening powder being made from completely natural ingredients you will find your tooth ache isn’t made any worse when brushing. This being said, it will probably be the best idea to see what your dentist recommends or if you need to consider further action in treating the problem tooth. Activated charcoal can actually help to remove plaque, but be aware that a painful tooth is probably a sign of medical requirements, as the nerve has been reached.
As previously mentioned, there are many products available on the market that whiten your teeth. It is really down to you and which you decide to use, the only advice I can give to you is natural is the best way, not only because they are the safest to use but will also keep your teeth in a healthy state and won’t result in permanent damage to your teeth, gums or enamel.
